Favorite patterns that grow with you

Welcome (back) to the celebration! I’m Rachel from Handcrafted by RED, I’m excited to take a trip down memory lane today.

In honor of the Love Notions milestones this week, I paired the brand-new Skater Skirt pattern with an old favorite, the Cartwheel Top.

The Cartwheel Collection was one of our first tests for Love Notions, back when Miss P was just 4 (she’ll be 7 in two weeks). Look how little she was here!

As early as it was in LN history, it wasn’t our FIRST test for Tami. I’ve been testing here since the girls’ Trendy Tunic, after I pm’ed Tami with shameless pics of my kiddo modeling an Everyday Playdress and basically begged her to include us in the next test. 😉 I’m so glad she took a chance on us!

Since then I’ve sewn almost every pattern in the shop, and many of them over and over again. I love having staples that work well for my kids (and myself!) that I can reach for when I’m short on time and need a guaranteed winner. Here’s a Trendy Tunic that I made for Posey just this past summer:

One of the best things about testing consistently for the past few years is the assortment of photos I’ve got of my kids.

I love that it pushes me to improve my camera skills, and really allows me to capture their every phase.

I love seeing how my girl has grown – and that the LN patterns really grow with her. Tami’s style is modern yet still classic enough to take us through the full range of sizes, which I really appreciate. She might have grown in size and sass, but at least she looks sweet. 😉

Hi I’m Shelly from Sew Shelly Sew and I’m so excited for this week’s celebration!

Today I am here to tell you about my favorite Love Notions pattern(s).  I really love all the Love Notions patterns I have made, but I am especially fond of The Samson Sweater.

I bought The Samson Sweater on the day it released several years ago because I had looked everywhere for a long time for a raglan sweatshirt pattern and also a raglan cardigan pattern.  Strangely, raglan sweatshirt and cardigan patterns aren’t that easy to find!  This was the first Love Notions pattern I ever bought and the pattern that started my love affair!  I made Lucy a hooded raglan sweatshirt right after I bought the pattern and completely adored that little sweatshirt, but it was before I started blogging and photographing my projects regularly, so I never got picture 🙁  So,  I just had to make another!

The Samson Sweater is a unisex pattern that has tons of options (like all Love Notions patterns).

Options include a banded hem or the curved hem; optional hood; jacket/cardigan or sweatshirt, and more.  I opted to make the curved hem (which I LOVE!) without the hood this time. A large kangaroo pocket was added to make it my own!  I purchased the floral french terry fabric for the sweatshirt from Raspberry Creek.

I also made a pair of Love Notions free Leggin’s to match…a recent obsession of mine! They fit her perfectly, they are such a staple, and they are so quick and easy to make. Plus, the pattern is free and they take so little fabric!  I also purchased the leggings fabric from Raspberry Creek…they have several pretty colors of cotton/lycra…I may be mildly obsessed with them 😉

I enjoyed revisiting this pattern so much I cut one out for my baby boy already!  I hope you enjoyed reminiscing with me about my favorite Love Notions patterns.  What’s your favorite Love Notions pattern?
