You can rock every season with the versatile Clef Coat

Hello sewing friends, happy to see you back on the love notions blog.  I’m AnCa from Flaxfield_sewing and I’m so proud that I get the opportunity to show you how suitable the recently released Clef Coat is for every season.  It’s a really trans-seasonal garment sewing pattern that you can rely on, season after season.  A real wardrobe builder, you change the fabric and you have a totally different layering piece, that’s sewing math ♥.

Mid-season Clef Coat

Fall or spring, this seasons are characterized by unpredictable temperature changes, that’s why the perfect mid-season jacket is an excellent lightweight layering piece.  And the clef Coat is the perfect cute coat for that purpose.

I used a lightweight corduroy in a sweet pink color.   Corduroy is soft, stylish and totally on trend.  And as a bonus it provides the perfect amount of insulation for those breezy spring and fall days.  To add a bit of contrast, I chose a light grey hood in sweater fabric.

Summer with Clef Coat

For summer you can choose materials that offer breathability and comfort, ensuring you don’t overheat.  A summer-appropriate fabric could be linen, cotton, … and denim.  For my summer version of the Clef Coat I choose a lighter weight denim.  

When I think of denim, I tend to think of buttons rather then on a zipper, so I chose the buttoned closure.  In this version, the hood was replaced by the stylish, high collar, which can be worn open or closed.  No Kangaroo pockets with this version but instead I used 2 welt pockets.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”720039,720038,720040″ image_grid_loading=”default” layout=”3″ item_spacing=”default” gallery_style=”7″ load_in_animation=”none” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]

Winter in a Clef Coat

The best winter vests should act as a layer between you and the elements.  When it isn’t quite cold enough for a full jacket, but still you need an extra layer.  Sherpa is a fabric that ticks all the boxes.  It gives excellent insulation and provides protection against the wind and cold weather.
