I have made two Coda jackets from a pre-quilted coverlet (that my son’s dog chewed a hole in). Such a quick sew. I made my own binding which gives you so many choices. My daughter in law saw it and asked if I would make her one. I left the buttons off of mine but put them on hers and used a different binding. I would like to quilt my own fabric for one this fall – a Liberty would be so pretty.

I LOVE this pattern! It was easy to follow, and I love how I am able to combine quilting with garment sewing. I will definitely be making another one.

I have sewed 4 versions of the Coda jacket. This jacket is a relatively easy pattern to sew. I had a lot of fun!

Just finished my first Coda jacket made from a quilted sofa cover!! No one knows and I get compliments all the time. 😊 The pattern went together so quickly and instructions were easy to follow!

This is a great pattern I used the border of an existing quilt top to make mine. The sew-along was also fun.

I made my coda coat little longer than the pattern. Despite being a beginner and probably not grading between sizes quite right, I think the coat turned out very well. Looking forward to making another one in the future.

I made this during testing and LOVED how it came together. Easy sew and such a great statement piece.

I own 12 different love notions patterns, and I think they’re awesome, but to be honest, this pattern gave me a lot of trouble. The basic jacket is simple, but that binding! Oh my! It took me four days working on it for several hours every day. I’m not sure why I had such trouble, but part of it was that I made my own binding and I’m not really good at joining all the ends. That was terribly frustrating and very very time consuming. If I made this jacket again, I would buy premade binding and lots and lots of i!! In the end if I made this again, I would have to put a bust dart in it. The jacket ends hung straight out from my chest pointing away from my body. Not very flattering, but I think that something I could fix with a large dart. The contrast of the binding looked very very nice, I have to admit. This one just wasn’t for me.

The Coda jacket is such a great jacket. It’s an easy to follow pattern (like every Love Notions pattern!) and you come away with the best jacket for those transitional weather days!
