I love this pattern for a classic and refined look! The Duet Trousers are gorgeous and very appropriate for my business casual + office. I like that they have a modern silhouette, but not a “skinny” fit. I have made a few pairs for work using a ponte and a double-knit. I sewed up my normal size according to the fit chart, and I would definitely recommend using elastic in the waistband.

Love this pattern! Can be business or casual depending on the fabric! And it’s a great pattern to learn to fit pants!

This is such a great pattern. I made it with a knit and can’t wait to try it with a woven.

I love this pattern. Sewing pants always intimidated me but Love Notions makes it so easy.

These make me so happy! The workbook for fit that came with this helped me immensely to get the fit right. The hours I now save by not going to a store to try on pants that don’t fit are hours I can spend crafting! Duet for the win!

the fitting workbook is worth every penny regardless of the pattern, but the pattern is great too! I refer to this fitting workbook every time I make pants no matter who drafted the pattern.

I was super scared to try this pattern, but it was great! The video tutorials along the way helped me a great deal and I was able to sew up my first pair of pants.

This is my holy grail of paants patterns. It comes with a huge adjustments book so you can make any adjustments that work for you. They are quick and easy sew and look amazing! LOVE this pattern

So excited this pattern comes with the custom fit e-book and as a beginner, anything extra I can learn the better. Love a versatile pattern that has multiple choices.

I play golf and have been looking for a pants pattern that I can make. My peer group decided to make this pattern. I love how many instructions there are, how to put the muslin together quickly, and an entire workbook on fitting. Thank you for making patterns that really are intuitive, thoughtful and look good.

This was my second purchase from Love Notions. I loved the Luna Loungewear pattern so much I decided to give the Duet a try with the tapered leg option. These pants are so comfy. Made a muslin first, with alterations for a flat seat. Sewed the final version up in a ponte.. I did raise the top front an inch and a half because I like a higher rise. Love the front pocket. Will definitely make another pair and anxious to try another pattern. I’m hooked.

Fabulous and flattering trousers! I have made both a woven pair and a pair in bengaline, both very successful. The full tummy option is exactly what has made the difference to me. I will be making more!

During the pandemic I did a lot of ‘spring cleaning’ and got rid of things that didn’t fit or I didn’t like. Turns out I got rid of ALL my work pants LOL! Duets to the rescue! I was able to make them in 1 day thanks to the projector pattern, and did minimal adjustments. They fit like none other! Hooray! Now I have professional looking pants that are comfy and well fitting!

I made a pair in a knit fabric. I was so pleased with myself for reading all the instructions about getting a great fit, they fit a great. I just love these patterns, there is always so much help.

I had avoided making trousers for so long!
As a larger lady, I wasn’t confident that I’d be able to get a flattering fit, but I shouldn’t have worried!
This is a great pattern and the fitting workbook provides all the guidance you need to succeed!

I have never used an indie pattern until I made the Duet pants. I am 73 yrs young (sewing since I was 9) and have always used a big four pattern. I have NEVER made as nice fitting pants with only two miner adjustments. The drafting on the pattern was great. I plan on making LDT and if the fit is as good I will use your patterns for future sewing. Thank you.so much.

These are my go to for pants. They fit in all the right places and I love them. All 9 pairs.

I have had this pattern for a long time and recently decided to give it a try. I am so happy with the first draft. Pants are always a challenge for me but, I will only need a couple slight adjustments. The workbook is super helpful.

The pants are amazing and the course is FAB.

I love this pattern. I like that I can make pants for myself and not be scared by the pattern.

I made them Duet trousers in a red stretch woven. I’ve always had problems with the fit of ready to wear and until this pattern has no idea how to make a pair that fit. The instructions on fit with this pattern are wonderful! It’s the first time ever I’ve had a pair of pants that actually fit! I love them!

Love the large front pocket!! Great pattern. Workbook makes it easy to adjust the fit, such a great included resource! I have made about 5 duets! Also watched Lifting Pins and Needles pants fitting videos- which is great! Even though I’ve made several pairs I think the LN course would be very helpful. Making my own pants that fit and feel good gives me a boost of sewing confidence!!
My daily wear pair of pants are the Duet. I made mine out of ponte. Comfy, easy to wear, easy to care for and they look nice!

I am almost through making my first pair of Duets and thought I would write a review while the construction of them was still relatively fresh in my mind. For fabric, I used a non stretch twill. I was between size 16 and 18, and in accordance with the pattern recommendations and other reviews, I cut a 16. I did take the precaution of adding an extra 3/8 of an inch to the side seams to give myself extra room if required. I also did a “full butt” adjustment, which is something I do on all pants I make. I also decided to make a lapped zipper rather than an invisible zip, as I was worried that the pants might be a bit of a tighter fit than i normally wear, and would pull on the zipper and the teeth would show. I also changed the construction order because I like doing the crotch curve seam from centre front to centre back all in one go (like a horseshoe) rather than as instructed. I also used the back waist band for curvier shapes. So the results. I loved loved loved having the curvier back waistband piece. It produced the best waistband I’ve ever done, with no gaping. That alone made the purchase of this pattern worthwhile. Doing the lapped zipper was not a good idea, and although I got it to work and I’m happy with the results, it did require a major re-jigging of the construction order, and I put a binding on the upper waist edge as well. There may be a better way to make this work with the curved waistband, but after taking the waist band on and off a couple times, I couldn’t think of anything better. The fit was a bit snug. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m not used to wearing really fitted woven pants (I can’t remember the last time I wore woven pants, but it’s been at least a decade) or if they were really too small for me. I ended up taking the zipper out and redoing the side seam allowances 1/4 of an inch narrower, and the inner leg side seam allowances each 1/8th of an inch narrower, which made the pants more comfortable for me. I also used a longer zipper, which made getting the pants on a lot easier. Overall I’m really pleased with the pattern. The pocket construction is very clever (although the pants are too tight to put much in the pockets). For me, being in between sizes, and using non stretch fabric, sizing up might have worked better, but the wider seam allowances allowed me to tweak the fit. The instructions are clearly written (even if I didn’t really follow them), the pieces are well drafted and fit together well. I am happy to have found a woven pants pattern that look good and go together quickly, and will be making more.
