I never thought in a million years I would be able to make a pair of woven pants WITH a button fly! The tutorial for this pattern is so well written and easy to follow! I am soooo happy with my new pants! They turned out amazing!!

Although I would say this pattern is more intermediate than advanced beginner the instructions are good and easy to follow. Pants fit well and I love that both the pants and skirt option are included in the same pattern!

This pattern is cut out and ready for summer shorts. Pants are so scary but after success with the Allegros, I think I have the confidence to tackle the Glissandos. Love Notions patterns are always current and on trend and this one is no exception!

Love the skirt. Can’t wait to try the shorts

I’m still working on the fit but I love this pattern–so stylish and the instructions are very clear, the finished product is so professional when I use LN patterns and this is no different! Can’t wait to be through the muslin-ing process so I can get out the good fabric for these pants!!!

These are great pants. I typically have to do a lot of blending between sizes on my lower half being quite pear shaped. Decided to give these a try because love notions patterns typically fit me fairly well. I still had to blend between 2 sizes and make some minor adjustments, but it was a pretty good fit on the first try. Instructions are great. I did swap out the button closure for a zip so I didn’t follow the directions there. Love the high waist. I’m already planning to make more in all the fabrics!

I followed Whitney’s tutorial for these pants & was amazed at the fit of the woven fabric pants for me. Love this pattern!

I’ve just finished my muslin of these pants and I do like the style, but I think there is a drafting error in the fly pieces/crotch curve: the directions the directions and fly pieces indicate that the entire area of the fly should be straight, until you clip into the seam allowance just below the fly, where the front leg pieces start the crotch curve, but (at least in sizes 20-22) the crotch curve starts well above where the fly piece ends, meaning these two pieces cannot align. I’ll need to figure out a fix for this before I move on to my expensive fabric.

Hi Katherine,
We just examined the issue you outlined here. We are having trouble replicating it on our end. The curve looks correct on all sizes. Could you possibly email [email protected] or [email protected] with a screenshot/picture of your issue? We’d love to amend this if something is amiss but right now we aren’t able to view what you are viewing. (And we want you to be able to get that Glissando muslin made up ASAP 🙂 )

This is a great pant pattern for curvy shapes. If you’re straight and not curvy a muslin is a must. I had to remove quite a bit from the hip on front and back pieces. It worked great. The waist also sits very high on the hip so if you don’t have much room between your rib cage and hip you will need to adjust for the too. I need to draft wider fly pieces for future makes because those pieces were narrow for buttonholes (I was using a standard 5/8”). For me making the fly shorter helped align the crotch pieces better too. It was a great way to learn adjustments I’ll have to make for almost any bottom pattern.

This pattern was just what I was looking for in a pant for summer that can be shortened as well. I read the other reviews about the fly being too long, and I would agree. I followed Katrina at Lifting Pins and Needles video to change the fly to a zipper ( used a 9 inch jeans zipper, but a 7 inch would work too), which worked really well. I also changed how the pocket was blended into the side seam so that there was less sewn into the side seam which made a more comfortable pocket. I needed to increase the raise in the back (I am 5′ 10″) and scoop a bit for a low butt too. With these minor changes for my body, the pant is a winner!

Love the style! Buttons are half an inch, which is a shirt size button and for some situations, maybe a zipper would be better. May make the pockets deeper, but overall, a comfortable, versatile design with pocket options.

This is my Tried and True trouser pattern. I’ve nailed the fit with minimal changes (using “top down center out”) and have it in multiple lengths and have even adapted the pockets for lined suit trousers with a tailored blazer. The quality of the drafting is top notch and the instructions are accessible and well done for all skill levels.

This is the first time making a structured woven skirt like this and the instructions were great. I love that it include full belly adjustment pieces so I didn’t have to figure those adjustments out on my own.

I was fearful to make woven pants with a button fly. I am overjoyed with how they turned out! They fit so well! The instructions were easy to follow and the finished product looks so professional. I can’t wait to make more pants and also some skirts since the pattern includes both.
