I have made at least four of these shirts and I wear them ALL THE TIME!!! It is a quick project with great results, perfect for a comfy everyday shirt with casual cotton jersey fabric…. or it can be dressed up a bit with some nice sweater knit!! A++

  2. Andrea (verified owner)

very comfy shirt, great for everyday wear!! Easy to follow pattern and a quick sew! I plan to try it in sweatshirt knit next 🙂

  3. linestrada

This is a wardrobe staple for me. My daughters have also asked for one as well which is a win! Instructions are perfect as always.

  4. Amy (verified owner)

Love this pattern, the yoke is a nice derail with all the comfort of a tee shirt.

  5. nitelily3 (verified owner)

Very easy pattern to put together and sew. I love the added yoke detail!

  6. reneeadavis (verified owner)

    I have made 2 Sloane Sweaters, my 1st one I made with a solid Cotton Lycra & I up-cycled a shirt for the yoke, neckband & cuffs…my 2nd one I used French Terry & a print Cotton Lycra for the yoke, neckband & cuffs. I absolutely love this pattern; it is a simple but classy shirt/sweater that you can dress up or down…it’s also very comfortable & fun to wear. The pattern assembly is as smooth as butter, as is all of Tami’s patterns; I love her tutorials/instructions b/c they are clear, concise & unencumbered…thank you Tami for such wonderful patterns…;o}

  7. Melissa (verified owner)

Love the versatility of this pattern! It’s great being able to use the yoke to add an extra design element (and use up any extra scraps of beloved fabrics). Comfortable top and can go from basic to more customized very easily!

  8. Trista (verified owner)

Love this pattern. I love the extra pop the yoke adds. Lace looks so pretty with it.

  9. Trista (verified owner)

Love this pattern just as much as I do all the Love Notions patterns.

  10. punkweazel

This is my all time favourite pattern. It is easy and versatile. I have made at least six of these and intend to make more. The fit is really comfy.

  11. Christine Welsh Goodness

I loved this top I made in a mustard French Terry. Easy to sew and I had no problems following the directions. It fit well and looks great! I will be making many more!

  12. Hannah Carriere (verified owner)

Ah, Sloane. I have lost track how many of you I have made. Each time it’s as satisfying as the first.

  13. cabral_shana (verified owner)

This is my go-to top pattern. I love the relaxed fit and the ability to dress it up or make it casual.

  14. carolecushman (verified owner)

This is the first love notions pattern I have made and absolutely love it. I have fabric picked out for next one.

  15. Ronna Plank (verified owner)

What is not to love about this pattern?! It’s probably my all time favorite. I’ve probably made at least 12 for myself and my daughter. The yoke makes a lovely contrast piece, the kangaroo pocket is easy to sew and perfect for holding my cell phone. It makes a great shirt or hoodie or sweatshirt. I’ve made this in French Terry, sweatshirt fleece, cotton lycra, and waffle. It’s such a satisfying and easy sew with perfect results.

  16. Linda Ross (verified owner)

I made 2 of these with the hoods. Fun and easy. This pattern is a classic and no two would look alike with so many variations.

  17. Lizel Schwartz (verified owner)

Love this pattern, It was easy to make, and it wears fantastic. It’s so comfortable. I got many compliments. I also had t make my neighbor one as she couldn’t resist this pattern, and she’s 80! She loved it and wears it often. It looks great in a rib knit type fabric. It’s a definite favorite for me.

  18. rickandkarenweber (verified owner)

Love this pattern. The fit is lovely and the shoulder details allow for fun creativity.

  19. Lynne Morrison (verified owner)

This has become my favorite pattern for a basic sweatshirt and I use the waistband on other patterns too. Great fit and easy construction.

  20. Hope (verified owner)

Another of my favorites! Love the back piece that you can use a fun accent piece! And as always the instructions are always so nice!

  21. Jaye Holland (verified owner)

I love this pattern. I added the elbow patches which was a little out of my style – but they look awesome. I found a hack for thumbholes in the cuff. That was a fun addition!

  22. ELiza (verified owner)

Great all around pattern. The shoulder detail provides the opportunity to color block. Sizing is inclusive and it sews up quickly. Win, Win!

  23. Michelle Telin (verified owner)

Don’t be on the fence about this one..the yoke allows this pattern to have a little extra “pizazz” using a pop of another fabric. I also added some lace detail in the hem/seam at the yoke top front for an extra feminine touch 🙂

  24. Hayley Lown (verified owner)

    Ridiculously comfy and cozy!

  25. Whitney Larson

The yoke in this is so flattering and allows for so many options. The fit is relaxed making it perfect for a comfy sweatshirt.

  26. Julie Boylan (verified owner)

I made my Sloane in one day and when I say that I don’t mean that I threw it together so fast that it looks like it. I mean I made a beautifully sewn garment in a single day. I put it on and immediately felt two things – I felt comfortable and proud of myself.

  27. Leslie Clanin (verified owner)

I love this pattern! I can’t wait to make more!

  28. Jennifer Lee (verified owner)

This is my 24/7 shirt. It is comfy as a pajama top, yet can be worn out for the day. When I make this in double brushed poly, I can sleep it or wear it to work. Most comfortable pattern ever.

  29. Deneane Keane (verified owner)

If you’re the kind of person who likes to play with fun little details Sloane is the one for you! Lots of options to switch things up for tons of cute looks!

  30. magsohara2 (verified owner)

This is my go to pattern for a top!! Have made it many many times in everything from fleece, faux angora, lightweight knits and french terry. Worth it’s weight in gold this pattern. Very basic , easy to follow instructions but a great pattern to get to grips with if you’ve never sewn knits before. ????????????????????????????????

  31. Jessica Vermillion (verified owner)

This is a great pullover top. Depending on the fabric chosen, it could be dresses up or down. I made this with a lighter weight waffle knit, which is great for Florida weather. I do think a heavier knit or interlock would suit this pattern better. I plan to make my next version without the kangaroo pocket in a black interlock knit, where I can dress it up a bit with jeans and heels. I love the versatility of Love Notions patterns. This pattern is no exception and comes with a variety of details that you can add or skip to make many unique versions of this top. This is a great pattern that I would recommend.

  32. Tamara (verified owner)

I love the fit & all the options with this pattern. Easy to make too.. It is one of my LN faves!

  33. Josephine (verified owner)

This is a great pattern with lots of options. I use it for base layers for winter–it’s great for athletic fabrics that have some stretch but not enough stretch to work great with a long-sleeve tee pattern. The fit of the Sloane just works really well for me.

  34. mamadepue (verified owner)

One of my favorite patterns. A staple in my closet for fall and winter. So easy to make and so comfortable to wear! Love the options available with this pattern.

  35. Kathleen N (verified owner)

This is one of my favorite shirts to make for myself, my kids, and to give away as gifts. The color blocking allows for fun fabric options. This pattern is detailed enough to be interesting, but simple enough that it comes together fairly quickly.

  36. RebeccaB (verified owner)

This was one of the first PDF patterns I bought, over a year and a half ago, but it took me that long to get around to making it – then I made 3 within 2 weeks because it is as perfect as everyone says it is! I especially love that the neckline is pretty loose with the hood on, so the hood hanging down doesn’t cause the neckline to pull on my throat. The fit is exactly as I expected (I made the size I measured into) and it even worked well with a lower-stretch knit. Fast, easy, comfy, and cute!

  37. Sarah Farley (verified owner)

Love love love this pattern! I have made four of them out of French Terry and they are so soft and comfy! I’ve made both the banded and the shirt tail hem with the yoke. Normally I have to do a front shoulder adjustment on every top I make but by using the yoke I don’t have to do that! This pattern is very easy and fast to sew!

  38. Casey (verified owner)

When in doubt, make a Sloane! I’ve made several with cotton Lycra, French terry, DBP, and any combination of the afore mentioned fabrics. Always a winner!

  40. Casey (verified owner)

When in doubt, make a Sloane! I’ve made several with cotton Lycra, French terry, DBP, and any combination of the afore mentioned fabrics. Always a winner! So many different options!

  41. Diane Kinney (verified owner)

I love Sloane! The drop shoulder keeps me from having to make my typical broad shoulder adjustment. The hood is super-cute and easy to do. I love the banded version and how deep the cuffs are (easy to roll or add a thumb hole).

  42. gamblese (verified owner)

This is a great, easy to make pattern. I love how there’s so many options so you can make the pattern multiple times but have a completely different shirt. I’ve also used this pattern for gifts. It’s just a great pattern.

  43. Liz LeFevre (verified owner)

Super comfy and easy to sew. My daughter can be really fussy, but she liked my first one so much, she asked if she could take it home with her. I whipped up a new one for myself in no time. I just love this pattern.

  44. jeri59834 (verified owner)

I’ve made this several times with different options. All have turned out great! Comfy and a great casual top.

  45. borgersnienke (verified owner)

I love this top. Made it three times and all are different.

  46. denisehoehns (verified owner)

I made four of these for the granddaughters. They loved them and was fast assembly line sewing.

  47. Katharine van der Heijden (verified owner)

Super comfy for everyday wear.I live the yoke that changes from a classic sweater

  48. ruthspory (verified owner)

Another winner from LN. I used a Hacci sweater knit to make a hooded version. The directions were clear and easy to follow. Love the options for neckline that accompany the pattern.

  49. Karen Nelson (verified owner)

This is the easiest pattern ever! All Love Notion patterns are easy to follow but this one comes together in just minutes. My favorite Sloan is hacked with the cowl neck from Arlington. The Sloan is a looser fit sweater than Arlington so it is my favorite.

  50. Dale Luxford (verified owner)

This is a really nice pattern that fits well and goes together quickly. There are lots of cute options to give you several different looks.

  51. Laurie Weaver (verified owner)

I wanted to get back into sewing and found this company on facebook. I have tried other printable patterns, but this one was different. I bought fabric on a Sunday and by Monday had a brown fleece Sloane to wear to work on Halloween as part of my bear costume. My co- workers were astounded – you made that- like how. Can’t wait to show off more sewing from these easy to use patterns. I especially like the full bust options.

  52. lynnbuckland (verified owner)

I’ve just made the hooded version of this. It went together very quickly and I love the end result.
The instructions were easy to follow. I made mine longer and I added pockets to the sides as I didn’t want the large pocket on the front this time. Friends are surprised that it’s hand made. Even my daughter said she’d like one which must mean it’s good..

  53. Lenore Baker (verified owner)

I made the long sleeve hooded version. It is so easy to sew. I reach for it as soon as it comes out of the wash. It’s so comfy!

  54. Jamie Edwards (verified owner)

I made my first Sloane recently and I love how it turned out! Such a great pattern, and good for hacking too! I didn’t have enough of the fabric I wanted to use, so I color blocked.

  55. Pat Semeraro (verified owner)

I just made the Sloane top with the hood for the first time. I love the crisscross styling of the hood on the front of the top and its super cozy in a cotton/rayon blend french terry. This top goes together very quickly too!

  56. Hannah Keller (verified owner)

I LOVE the Sloane! This pattern is such an easy and quick sew. I love it and have made so many!

  57. Terri Surrett (verified owner)

This is my second most made pattern. I love the fit and style. It can be made for casual or a little more dressy depending on fabric choice. Thank you for this wonderful, versatile pattern!

  58. Caren Augsburger (verified owner)

I used a mid to heavy weight French terry with 4-way 45-50% stretch to make a warm and cozy sweatshirt using the Sloan Sweater pattern. It is so comfortable and has some nice details that give it more style than a basic sweatshirt. I needed to lower the elbow patches an inch to fit my gangly arms, but I have to do that with any pattern that has elbow patches. I’ll be making more of these.

  59. Holly Wagoner (verified owner)

I have made so many Sloans! It is the absolute BEST fitting casual top. It is so versatile in handling fabric ranges; cotton lycra, sweater knit, sweatshirt fleece, stretch velvet, French terry, mesh, stretch lace, etc. And it is a great base for pattern mashing by changing up the sleeves from other patterns to make even more versions!

  60. Sue (verified owner)

Great slouchy, relaxed top that can be worn in a casual manner or made to look dressier. Variety of fabrics work with this. Very versatile. Another great one to add to the make more list. Always worth checking out the love notions catalogue of patterns as they have a pattern for virtually every type of garment to want.

  61. Luv SODA (verified owner)

Yes I have bought this pattern. I also love the options. I have more makes planned than time LOL I also love the hand holding support group Thanks Love Notions!

  62. Noel (verified owner)

What a great pattern! I recently purchased the Sloane during a Feature Friday sale and made a casual sweatshirt from French terry. It is one of the most comfy shirts I have! Not only do I want to make another casual top or two, I’m planning to make a dressy version as well.
