I love my tencel satin Sonata dress – it’s both polished and comfy.
I needed to adjust the bust darts but that was easy thanks to the clear instructions.

Having a large bust, I shied away from dresses for many years… then I found Love Notions patterns. The Sonata pattern has become my block for tops. Both dresses fit me perfectly and my husband loves them :). The dress is easy to sew and the instructions are detailed and easy to follow.

I really like this pattern for woven fabric. I have made it at least 6 times and always changed up the details. Thank you for such a versatile pattern.

I love that the Sonata Dress pattern has cup sizes, and appreciate the fitting tips in the tutorial. I had to lower the bust dart (a common adjustment for me) and although I still need to hem and add the binding to the armscyes, I can tell that this dress is going to be worn often and the pattern used again and again. And, it has pockets, always a win in my book! <3

Love this dress, it’s so easy to make. I made 2 in a day. First one was slightly fiddly, second one was done a couple hours later.
Comfy, perfect fit. Love the pockets

This is a great dress; incredibly versatile, feminine yet practical and easy to wear. Dress up or down. I’ve lowered the waist for a different look, and used it for a top (i just added fish eye darts in the back instead of the elastic for shaping, but have also left loose for a comfy top). Great fit in the sleeves and lots of options. Truly a ‘go to’ for me 🙂

Fantastic pattern that invites multiple sews! I’ve made 3 versions so far any have only scratched the surface of possibilities for this comfortable, practical, and elegant dress. The exposed sculptured neckline can be in same or constrasting fabric for completely different looks. Or the facing can be turned inwards and the shape changed to a V or scoop to shift the focus to the rest of the dress. It works in a relatively crisp cotton or silk just as well as a drapey linen or viscose. The incorporated pockets make it quick to cut and put together, once the neckline is done. As with any bodice, it may need a few alterations to get the sizing and dart placement perfect. Recommend!

I have made this dress over and over, in both short sleeved and long sleeved. It is my go to pattern for a woven dress. Every time I wear one of them I get complimented, it flatters all body shapes. It is a can’t loose buy.
