I have yet to sew a LN pattern that I didn’t love. The Tidal is not exception. The princess seams are super flattering, the binding finish is explained thoroughly and very easy to understand (but you can also do bands if you prefer). The sizing is spot on and, as always, good quality from Tami.

I love this pattern! The fit is spot on and oh so flattering. Thanks for another fabulous pattern!

Impressed. I am a pdf hater but was convinced to try these patterns because of the trimless (yes!) feature – the layering is not new to me, it’s brilliant, and the combo makes putting the darn thing together so much easier. I am super glad I did buy this pattern – it is so professional and well drafted. There are so many clumpy designs out there – seems like everyone and their mother thinks they can design patterns – and that if they pose with flowers round their head they’ll convince us that their shapeless make is desirable. This is different. I love that Tami includes the possibility of a centre back contour seam for less drapey knits. And alternatives for both more conservative and more bare sleeveless options. Totally recommend.

I purchased the bundled pattern and have made several dresses in both the girl’s and women’s sizes. The biggest issue I have had so far is the really wide neckline. It is a little too low for my taste and wide enough that my bra straps keep peeking out. I keep trying to adjust it when I make a new shirt, but it’s frustrating to have some that I really don’t like to wear because they don’t fit as well. This seems to me more of an issue with the shirts I have made than the dresses–not sure if there is a slight variation in the patterns of the two or what.
Also, I did not have a problem with the girl’s necklines being too wide or low, just the women’s.
I do really like the overall style of the dress–it is very flattering, pretty, and easy to make. I don’t love the shirt as much. I know it is supposed to be a bit flowy, but it’s almost too much for me. Going down a size (to a small instead of medium) seemed to be better.
Also, I had my pattern printed at a print shop rather than doing it at home and the pages didn’t all match up correctly. Some did, some did not. There could have been an issue with the print shop–I wondered if maybe their pages were not lined up perfectly in the printer or something. Not sure. I was able to figure out pretty well where the lines should be, but they don’t line up where they should. (This was an issue in the long lines at the back and sides of the pattern, not with the neckline, so that wasn’t the cause of my other issues).
So, I do recommend the dress pattern, not so much the shirt, but I would make it up in a less expensive fabric first to check the fit.

I bought this pattern for the color blocking potential to ‘slim’ my waist…and I am not disappointed. I love using a darker contrast color for the side front pieces. This is very easy to sew and the instructions are clear.

I was surprised to see this pattern go together so quick, I did mine in red and black just like one of the testers and I love it. Another great pattern.

This is an easy pattern and very flattering fit.

Love that the directions are so well thought out and explained. The pattern has multiple variations so you can customize it for you. A very simple sew. Goes together easily. Printing at home means instant gratification so I don’t have to wait for a pattern to arrive by mail. Printing on paper means it lasts longer than tissue paper patterns. Once I customize it to fit my body, I transfer it to a pattern fabric like polypropylene so I can reuse it and drape it on me and it doesn’t rip. Love LN patterns.

I love the versatility of this pattern! I made one in all black for a little black dress and it is classy and flattering. I’m planning one in some fun fabric to be more flamboyant!

Another great and quick pattern! Love to wear my short sleeve knit dress with black stockings….so comfy! Need to make one for summer now!

This was my first LN pattern and I’m hooked. The sizing was accurate. It is the easiest pattern to shorten out of all my patterns. The whole thing came together quickly. I highly recommend this dress pattern especially since it can be dressed up or casual. Cheers!

The tidal top is my latest Love Notions make. I made a straight large and it fits so well and is very comfortable as well. Now I want to try the dress version.

I honestly cannot tell you how many of these I have made-there have been so many! I bought it for the lovely slimming effect of the color block intending to make a maxi dress; then I made the top version “as a muslin” and the rest is history. I have made numerous Tidal tops for myself and my sister (so she wouldn’t steal mine) they are her number one request for any gifting holiday etc. the fit is spot on, they are quick and easy to sew up. And the color blocking options are really fun to play with and use those odd scraps that are to beautiful to ignore. I particularly love using those scraps for the center panel. This year I am determined to make the maxi dress version like I originally intended-I still have the fabric set aside from when I bought the pattern. Maybe I will use MeMadeMay as my extra push to get it done and on my body. So if it isn’t clear yet: I absolutely highly recommend this pattern! You need it friend!

Flattering princess seams provide endless opportunities for color blocking, using different fabrics or playing with prints and stripes. A quick sew, clear instructions, and multiple options make the Tidal such a great versatile pattern.

I love this pattern! I’ve made 8 so far; a mix of tank top, knee length, and maxi length. The princess seams are very flattering. A quick sew, I can make one of these start to finish in about two hours.

I just finished by third Tidal Top! Love Notions patterns are amazing and I really love this top. Have to say the full bust option available on Love Notions patterns has changed my sewing life. I am petite except for my bust and have always struggled with fitting. I have spent countless hours trying to do the FBA on commercial patterns with no real success. Purchased clothing is also difficult because I end up swimming in the material. I am thrilled to be able to sew tops that really fit!!! I will be making many more Love Notions patterns. Now on to a major fabric haul!

I have made this pattern twice so far and there are plans for more in the future. It is an elevated basic that is super comfy to wear. I did one version with a woven front panel and it turned out really pretty. The instructions are always clear and understandable and I thoroughly enjoy sewing this pattern.

I bought this pattern on a whim. Having never sewed with knit fabric and as a beginner I was a bit intimidated. And also, I don’t have a serger. Knit fabrics in Mauritius is hard to come by in the shops – quite funny as the Island is known for its T-shirts and has numerous factories. I thought what the heck I will use promotional t-shirts that’s been sitting in a box waiting for the right moment, lucky for me they were large men’s sizes. I picked up a few extra pounds, so the colour blocking looked like a good idea, and it worked. All of a sudden, I looked slimer. The instructions as always were clear to follow. My toile was a bit hit and miss but came together in the end – this was entirely my fault as I have never sewed with knit fabric. The top I made came out really well and I am so proud of my achievement. Tami you are a genius thank you so much for all your hard work your patterns are great. Thank you for the Sewalong’s it has definitely changed my life. I Highly recommend this pattern you will never look back.

I love this simple yet flattering pattern. I have made summer tank dresses and tops and most recently made the long sleeve version. I used up all my remnants making 4 fabulous long sleeve tops. Super easy to understand directions and a great fit. The princess seams are super flattering.
A T&T pattern!
